In honor of Veterans Day we are giving to USA Cares – Assisting Military Families in Crisis

Nov. 11th celebrates the temporary cessation of hostilities, between the Allied nations and Germany during World War I. This went into effect on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. For that reason, November 11, 1918, is generally regarded as the end of “the war to end all wars.”

Then in 1919 President Wilson proclaimed November 11 as the first commemoration of Armistice Day with the following words: “To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations…”

What perfect words to embolden the feelings we all have for those who have served for our country. In honor of all the Veterans we here at Intentional Chocolate are giving back to a loved organization, USA Cares, in honor of them and to help a wonderful cause that assists military families in crisis.

Why USA Cares?

USA Cares exists to help bear the burdens of service by providing post-9/11 military families with financial and advocacy support in their time of need. Assistance is focused on three main areas:

– Removing the financial barriers that prevent veterans from receiving treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress and Traumatic Brain Injury. This program is saving the lives of veterans and restoring families

– Removing the financial barriers that prevent veterans from securing employment

– Providing emergency financial assistance to veterans and active duty service members who sustain a significant reduction in pay because of their service.

Thank you to all the bought Intentional Chocolate this weekend and who buys today we are close to being able to give $5,000 to this amazing organization.
